February 10, 2020 Oak Creek HOA Meeting and Board Meeting Minutes

The meeting started with a talk by Oswego Township Highway Commissioner Robert Rogerson who talked about a March referendum to consolidate the road district into the township. If voters approve of the change, the township will eliminate the elected position of highway commissioner and make it a salaried position. The referendum reads: “Shall the Road District of the Township of Oswego be abolished with all the rights, powers, duties, assets, property, liabilities, obligations, and responsibilities being assumed by the Township of Oswego?”

Rogerson advocated for keeping the road district intact.

“As elected officials, it is our responsibility to look for better ways of doing things and being fiscally responsible to our taxpayers. The question is does this make sense?” he said.

The township is responsible for 71 miles of road.

Homeowners Meeting:

Since no one stepped up to fill the last vacancy on the board at the January meeting it was decided to postpone the election of board members to February.

Two people stepped up to fill the two openings (actually there were three – Mike Davis also was willing to serve but withdrew when Ray Mertens came forward.)

Linda Grahovec (current board member whose term expired) and Ray Mertens were elected through acclamation.

The current board members (terms expire next year) are Ted Ergo, Eric Paetzel and Tom Hytry.

Ted remains President, Eric - Treasurer, Tom - Secretary.

Monthly Board Meeting:

The minutes of the January Board meeting were approved.

Grounds: Three bids (including Semper FI) for landscaping are being solicited.

Clubhouse – Gene & Eileen Dunne jointed committee.

Non working toilet in clubhouse to be replaced.

Finance: 50K in checking (10K will be moved to money market account) – 92K in reserve.

2020 Budget will be presented at the next board meeting.

Pool: No report ARC: No report Social: No report Welcome committee: No report

New Business: A new working committee was formed to investigate replacing the playground and adding a basketball hoop. Members of the committee are Gene Dunne (chair), Mike Davis, George Booras, Beth Johnson.
