March 2018 Oak Creek Association Meeting |
Minutes of the March 12, 2018
Homeowners Association Meeting:
Board members present: Ted Ergo, Ellen
Larson, Linda Grahovec and Tom Hytry
The following homeowners were also present:
Jim & Janice Lee, Kim & John Baer, Carole Crum, Gene & Eileen Dunne,
George Booras, Nabil Fayoumi, Judy Palmer and LeeAnn
Olson.
Grounds:
Gene Dunne and Jeanne Brommer have
agreed to serve on the Committee. We will be mulching the entrance areas and
around the pool and clubhouse. Committee will get a bid for this work from
Semper Fi and Board will determine whether to use Semper Fi or order the mulch
and ask homeowner volunteers to install it. Ellen Larson will provide Linda Grahovec with a description of Grounds Committee duties.
Path:
Project plan is to start getting estimates for both restoring the path and
yearly maintenance. Path was number one
priority identified in 2017 homeowners’ survey.
George Booras will
provide the Committee with previous bid from 2 years ago.
Pool: Opening date
for the pool for this year is Friday, May 25.
Based on usage from last year, pool closing time is being changed from
9:30 p.m., to 9:00 p.m. “Attendant on
duty” hours will be changing to 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. By doing this we reduce one of the attendant shifts per day. The Board agreed that 2018 Pool Rules should be mailed
out to homeowners with the assessment bills.
Clubhouse (Kitchen Project): Remodeling has started. Old floor and counter tops removed. Floor has been leveled. Ellen Larson asked if a building permit was needed for
any of the kitchen remodeling work and was advised that no permit was needed.
Finance: No report – Eric was on vacation. No major changes to association finances.
Speeding in
Oak Creek: The school bus company was
contacted and buses now appear to be observing the speed limit.
Ted Ergo also contacted the local sheriff
department. They
in turn contacted the Township who will be
installing 4 “30 mile per hour” signs in the subdivision. They will also
install on a temporary basis speed monitoring devices.
Architectural Review Committee:
No report. However, it was noted that if homeowners are replacing culvert
covers, new covers should be concrete in compliance with the Covenants.
Welcome Committee: No new activity. Ted Ergo is
working on getting gift certificates for future new move-ins.
Social: A joint social event is being planned to
correspond to the reopening of the pool and the renovated clubhouse kitchen.
There was a discussion
concerning the safe storage of equipment used by the group that exercises in the
East Room. It was agreed to address this once the kitchen remodel is finished
and storage room space can be finalized.
The Board suspended the
open Board meeting and convened in Executive Session to discuss a business
matter involving the Association.
The open Board meeting
was reconvened and the minutes of the February 12, 2018 Board meeting were
unanimously approved.
The meeting was then
adjourned with no further business.
Next board
meeting: The second Monday in April; April
9th starting at 7:00 p.m
