October 2017 Oak Creek Association Meeting

 

Minutes of the October 9th Homeowners Association Meeting:

 

 Board members present:  Al Hardersen, Ted Ergo, John Robinson, Eric Paetzel and Tom Hytry

 

The following homeowners were also present: Shirley Hardersen, George Booras, Dorothy Jarman, Donna Palmer, Sandy Worzala, Jim & Janice Lee, Kim & John Baer, Carole Crum, Beth Johnson, Ray Mertens, Gene & Eileen Dunne,  Nabil Fayouni and Carol Smith (Ave 1000).

 

Clubhouse – West Room: Contractor work is done on the West Room. All remaining work is being done by Oak Creek residents.  We have $4,800 left over from the insurance payment from the West Room due to cost saving by doing some of the work ourselves (meaning Oak Creek residents.)

 

Clubhouse - Kitchen: We have $4,800 left over from the West Room and ~2K from the east entrance insurance payouts.  These funds are planned to be used to update the clubhouse kitchen.  A committee has been formed and will report at the November meeting on a plan for the updates.

Clubhouse – Water: Beth Johnson send in a water sample from the clubhouse for testing and it came back safe.

Pool: Closed.  Furniture put away.  Committee is looking at improvements and changes for next year.

 

Grounds: Looking into doing a controlled burn around the retention pound to control invasive plants.  Grounds committee will be reporting on options at the November meeting.

 

Social:  Oak Creek Holiday party is scheduled for the first Friday in December, December 1st.

 

Bear games will  continue in the clubhouse with snacks and food for the rest of the season.

Finance:  20K in Checking, 54K in Reserves. (Does not include $4,800 left over room West Room project.)

 

Eric will send out 2018 budget reminders to committee heads.

Next year’s budget will include projects based in this year’s homeowner’s survey conducted by John Robinson and results provided at October meeting.

 

Next board meeting:  The second Monday in November; November 13th starting at 7:00 p.m.

 

Annual meeting to be held Monday 1-15-18.
