May 2017 Oak Creek Association Meeting

Minutes of the May 8th Homeowners Association Meeting:

All Board members present:  Al Hardersen, Eric Paetzel, Ted Ergo, John Robinson and Tom Hytry

The following homeowners were also present: Ray Mertens, Jim & Janice Lee, George Booras, Fred Krug, Ellen Larson, Beth Johnson, Ed Granhovec, Kim & John Baer, Amy Eccher, Dustin Mol and Carole Crum.

Metal Roof:  The meeting started with a 15 minute presentation and request that a metal roof is allow on a screen room at the back of a homeowner’s house.  The reason for the metal roof is that the pitch of the roof is only 3x12 and therefore not steep enough for other types of roofing.  The Architectural Committee had denied the request.  The Board is asking our attorney if we can allow this for just this situation and the Architectural Committee will review his answer.

West Room: The meeting on May 30th at 7:00 PM will involve presentations by two contractors selected by the West Room Task Group.  A total of five bids were reviewed and the top two bidders have been invited to the meeting.  Homeowners are invited to attend along with the task group and the board.   During the presentations, the task group and Board will ask questions and seek clarification.  After the presentations, questions from homeowners will be addressed.

Refurbishing the Fireplace Room:  Plans are moving along to get the room refurbishing within the 5k budget.

(It was decided that the new blinds were not part of the refurbishing budget)

Pool:  2017 pool rules should be in this month’s assessment letter and on Oakcreekhomeowners.org.

Pool to open Saturday,  May 27th for the Memorial Day weekend.

Grounds: The tree by the clubhouse that was planted in memory of Gene Crum needs to be removed.

It will be replaced by a new tree.

The Walking Path will be treated three times this year for weeds.

Social: Planning a pool opening party sometime in June.

Finance:  18k in Checking, 53K in Reserves, 56k in separate account for the west room reconstruction.

Quite Time: One homeowner requests that people refrain from doing loud yard work before 9 a.m. on weekends.

Next board meeting:  The second Monday in June:  June 12th starting at 7:00 p.m.  The association meetings are moving to the second Monday of the month so that the board has more time to go over our Avenue1000 Realty financial report (it comes out on the first of the month).
