MINUTES OF THE October 17 HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING

Board members present: Kim Baer, Eric Paetzel and Tom Hytry.

The following homeowners were also present: Gene Dunne, John Baer, Dorothy Jarman, Carole Crum and Beth Johnson.

Fireplace Room: The work has been completed and it looks very nice.  We will be using the Holiday party to introduce it to the neighborhood.

Finance: We have ~54K in savings and ~2K in checking with ~3K in outstanding bills.  With the pool closing we should start getting more funds for the day to day operations.

Budget: There will be a 2017 Budget planning meeting on October 29th, 11:00 a.m. at the club house to look into

next year’s budget.  The planning committee is headed up by Eric Paetzel, Fred  Krug and Al Harderson.

Each committee head will submit their draft 2017 budget.  All association members are welcome.

Large items to be considered: Tennis court upkeep (~$5200), Pool concrete slab rising (~$900), new furniture of club house (~$5300), redoing playground.

All expenses from 2016 will be looked at to see if we can save cost for 2017.

West Room Update: State Farm has rejected our claim to fix the west hall (claims problem was from a design fault).

The board (working with John Wyeth) has decided to ask them to reconsider this.  We have had the consulting firm that looked at the Fireplace room look at the West Hall and they indicated the reason for failure is similar to that of the fireplace room.  Through John Wyeth we are working with the lawyer James Nyests that specializes in insurance claims to draft the reconsider letter to State Farm.  (John is donating his time – many thanks)

The board has incurred minimum fees in working with the consulting firm and James Nyests.

Pool: The pool is closed for the season. Two of the concrete slabs are uneven and a possible trip hazard.

As a minimum they will need to be mud jacked up.

Social: The fireplace room renovation and Holiday party will be on the first Friday in December, Dec 2nd.  The social committee plans to make this a major event including free food.  More details later.

Next board meeting:  The second Monday in November:  November 14, starting at 7:00 p.m.
