May 2016 Oak Creek Association Meeting

MINUTES OF THE May 2 HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING

All board members present: Al Harderson, Kim Baer, Fred Krug, Eric Paetzel and Tom Hytry.

The following homeowners were also present: Carole Crum, Jim & Janice Lee, Dorothy Jarman, Gene Dunne, Paul Augius, Jeanne Brommer, John & Donna Palmer, Shirley Hardersen, John & Victoria Robinson, Ray Mertens, Sandy Worzala and Art Woodward.

Fireplace Room: Work is continuing on the Fireplace Room. All work will be to current codes. Should be finished by pool opening.

Task Force headed up by Kim Baer looked at what materials (paint, flooring, etc) will be used in the reconstructed room. Laminate wood flooring will be put in, new brick on the Fireplace, and pre-wiring for a TV over the fireplace and pre-wiring for speakers. Also piping for converting the fireplace to gas is being added.

Social: There will be a fireplace room redoing/pool opening party when the above work is done.

West Hall: Insurance has rejected our claim. Board is continuing to look into options. (Will report next month on any progress/decisions.)

Grounds: Path with be sprayed for weeds. Landscaping around pool to be looked at (replacing dead rose plants)

Morgan Creek Drainage District: Jim Lee (on the district board) indicated that costs to homeowners will be about $10 per year on tax bill to clean up Morgan Creek.

Hwy71 widening: Currently there are no funds for widening Hwy71 by Oak Creek. Any work is still 4 to 5 years away.

Nextdoor: Currently 50 homeowners have signed with our “Nextdoor” service. If you have not done so please sign up.

Nextdoor is a free service which provides an electronic bulletin board for local neighbors. I have set one up for Oak Creek. For more information on it, see nextdoor.com on the web. Our service (Oak Creek) will be restricted to Oak Creek residences only. Some of things that we will be using the service for are association notices, pool changes including unexpected closings.

If you are getting unwanted message from outside of Oak Creek, go to the “Nearby Neighborhoods” and remove all neighborhoods that you don’t want messages from.
