January/February 2016 Oak Creek Association Meeting

 

MINUTES OF THE February  1st HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING

 

Election of two members to the governing board: Two openings on the board were up for election. Fred  Krug returns to the board and  Al Hardersen  will stay for two more years.

Eric Paetzel, Kim Baer and Tom Hytry have one more year to service.

 

Departing from the board were  Michael & Rebecca Bender.

For this year: Al remains as President, Eric has treasurer , Tom as Secretary.

 

Finance: The monthly assessment will remain at $85 per month.   The 2016 budget was approved.

For 2015 we had a deficit of $3400. This included extra pool costs and redoing the tennis courts surface ($9000).  Hopefully we will not have these costs for this year.

 

For this year we may have a major expense which could involve a special assessment.

See clubhouse  below.

 

After the first of this year we recovered  $4400 of late fees from the sale of 3 Oak Creek dr.

 

Clubhouse: Both the fireplace room and the west hall have major problems with the roof

Structure. (The west hall is closed for safety until it can be fixed.)

 

The board has meant with our State Farm Insurance Adjuster on the matter.

We had three companies come and look at what needs to be done.

The next board meeting will start at 6:30. Our State Farm Adjuster, Erin will start with outlining what State Farm is planning to cover and how they will work with us.  Two of the possible contactors will then have 30 minutes to provide their recommendations and to take Q & A.  The normal meeting will take place after this.  We will kept them brief so we can have the normal meeting starting by 8:00

Carol, of Ave 1000, also plans on attending.

 

Nextdoor:  Nextdoor is a free service which provides an electric bulletin board for local neighbors. I have set one up for Oak Creek.  For more information on it see nextdoor.com on the web.  Our service (Oak Creek) will be restricted to Oak Creek residences only.  Some of things that we will be using the service for are association notices, pool changes including unexpected closings. A small group (board members) are currently using it.
