Minutes of the October 5, 2015 meeting of the board of the Oak Creek Homeowners Association

All board members present: Al Harderson, Eric Paetzel, Kim Baer,  Rebecca Bender and Tom Hytry.

The following homeowners were also present: Jim & Janice Lee, Carole Crum, Dr. Doug & Judy Palmer, Dorothy Jarman, Beth Johnson, Sandy Worzala.

Finance: Expense summary for 2015 year to date have been sent to committee heads

Goal is to vote on new budget at January meeting.  Emphasis on 2016 budget is on what is needed.  Before any assessment increase is suggested we need to know what our actual needs are.

Architectural Committee: The new rules from the Architetural committee were discussed:

Satellite Dishes: The following was agreed on:

1. These devices may not be placed further forward than 15 feet from the rear of the residence.

2. If placement is on a roof, facer board, or chimney, the device shall not be visible from the street.

3. If placed on the ground, the device must be shielded from street view by appropriate shrubbery.

The Architectural Review Committees placement judgment will be final.

Existing Dishes are grandfather in. If they are moved they need to conform to the above.

Fencing: After a long discussion, the wording will be resubmitted.

Gardens: It was pointed out that there is no restriction on gardens in the association covenants and therefore not an appropriate area for the Architectural committee

.

Al Harderson is looking into suggested covenant changes on gardens.

(Note all covenant changes require a ¾ yes vote of all association members,

an abstention is considered a no vote)

Pool: Pool was closed and two leaks fixed.

Board would like to thank the pool committee for saying open later this year and the two

young men: Chase and Dash Temple that helped with the pool cleanup (putting furniture away etc).

Clubhouse: After a general discussion on the  club house it was agreed that the club house was for the association members and the more use if got the better.

The exercise group would welcome any homeowners who wished to join them (see below).

"For many years there have been several of us Oak Creek homeowners who have met down at the Oak Creek club house to exercise.  Initially we had evening and morning sessions that were led by instructors.  We were unable to sustain the instructors due to lack of interest.  Gradually the numbers whittled down to a select few.  We still meet most every weekday at 7:30am to roughly 8:30/9am.  We have purchased our own equipment (weights, steps, bands, balls and a variety of exercise tapes).  It has been brought to our attention that there may be some homeowners unaware of this activity.   To be clear, this is not an exercise class.  If you have any interest or questions regarding this matter, feel free to call Judy Palmer at 630-553-5542"

Next Board meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday, November 9.
