Minutes of the November 2, 2009

OAK CREEK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION Board Meeting

Called to order at 7:03 p.m., the following board members were present: Ned Hurley, Eric Paetzel and Tom Hytry.

The following homeowners were also present: Carole Crum, Sandy Worzala and Jean Paetzel.

Assessment Increase: The current board will recommend to the new board in January that

the monthly assessment be raised to $90.

The board looked into the need of raising the monthly assessment for next year.

We have not had an increase in the monthly assessment since 2003. If it wasn’t for the pool coming in under budget by $7000, we would have been in financial trouble this year.

To keep all of the improvements that we have done the last three year in good repair we need to look at an increase to the assessment. We also need to pave the front club house driveway in 2010.

Board Election: There will be three openings on the board this January and the three board members that currently hold the positions will be leaving. All three have been on the board for at least four years. If you are concerned about our neighborhood, please think about joining the board. The election meeting will be the second Monday in January, 1/11/2010

Steel Posts on sides of Road: Eric spoke with Gary Grosskopf, the supervisor of our Township Maintenance Dept., regarding the steel posts in our subdivision. Gary told him that his department places them along side the road in areas where the snow plow driver and the department feel is necessary in order to prevent the snow plows from going off the road and damaging our lawns.  He mentioned that they have been doing this for about 15 years.  Eric thanked Gary for the information and also thanked him for the good job they have been doing. 

Widening Highway 71: IDOT is planning to widen highway 71 in front of Oak Creek in the future. They will be presenting their plans for public comment in January. When the board gets more information, we will pass it on to you via these minutes.

Razor Scooter Found:  Sandy Hurley put a razor scooter in the clubhouse.  It has been sitting on the right side of the sidewalk leading into the clubhouse.  If it is yours, contact Sandy at 630 553-7464.

Social: The social committee is looking at having a pot-luck Friday night get-together at the club house on the first Friday in December – the 4th starting at 6:00 p.m. A flier will be given out a week before the event.
