OAK CREEK
HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION Board Meeting
Called to order at 7:00 p.m., the following board members were present: Adam Sarauskas, Jim Lee and Tom Hytry.
The following homeowners
were also present: Andy Beumel, Linda DeWitte, Tom Novak, Terry Mulhall, Sandy
Worzala and Doug & Judy Palmer.
Tennis Courts:
A contract for the new tennis courts has been signed (~38K) and work should
start in April. It is estimated that the
new courts should be good for 15 to 20 years.
Street Lights: Kendall County will be installing solar
street lights at both main entrances to the subdivision.
Budget: The 2008 Oak Creek budget will be voted on at the next meeting. A copy to the budget is available on the minute’s page of the association website “oakcreekhomeowners.org”
Roofing Materials: At the 2006 annual meeting the board passed a resolution to allow new materials to be used on roof. They rescinded the resolution this last summer. This topic has once again come up. One of the problems of deciding what to do is that at each meeting we have very few homeowners. At one meeting we have people that want to allow different roofing materials and at a following meeting people that are against the change. But at no time do we have anywhere near a majority of homeowners.
At this month’s meeting Jim Lee, representing the Architectural committee presented alternative roofing materials. Samples of the materials were at the meeting.
The board will
have samples of the materials at the April meeting. Instead of having a straw vote on whether to
allow alternative materials the board will vote on it at the April meeting.
The proposal on
the table is to allow alterative roofing materials under the following two
conditions: its weight must be at least
355lbs per square and the Architectural committee must be provided with a
sample and approve it prior to replacing the roof.
If you cannot attend the April meeting and have strong view on allowing or not allowing
alternative roofing materials please email your opinion at “tom @hytry.net” and I will present it the next meeting.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be the first Monday in April (April 7) at 7:00 p.m.
