Minutes of the February 11, 2008

OAK CREEK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION Board Meeting

 

Called to order at 7:00 p.m., the following board members were present: Ned Hurley, Eric Paetzel, Jim Lee  and Tom Hytry. 

 

The following homeowners were also present: Tom Novak, Carole Crum, Sandy Worzala and Jean Paetzel.

 

 

Roofing Materials: At the 2006 annual meeting the board passed a resolution to allow new materials to be used on roof.  They rescinded the resolution this last summer.  This topic has once again come up.  One of the problems of deciding what to do is that at each meeting we have very few homeowners.  At one meeting we have people that want to allow different roofing materials and at a following meeting people that are against the change.  But at no time do we have anywhere near a majority of homeowners.

 

To try to resolve this issue the board has decided to do the following:

 

At the March 10th meeting (which will be the second Monday in March) Jim Lee, representing the Architectural committee will present alterative roofing materials. Samples of the materials will be at the meeting. Also addresses of homes where these materials have been used will be available.

 

The board will then conduct a straw vote via the March mailing of the APRIL assessment billing statement to get homeowners view on allowing the alterative materials.  The board will assume that homeowners that do not respond to the straw vote don’t have a strong opinion either way.  Note: It is the responsibility of the Architectural committee to determine if any alterative roofing material is to be allowed. It does not require a change to either the association covenants or by-laws.

 

The board plans to approve the recommendation of the Architectural committee at the April 14th meeting so that homeowners looking at replacing their roofing will know what choices they have.

If you are interesting in helping on any of the above committees please contact the committee heads directly.  They all can use the help and only by getting homeowners like you to help can we continue to make Oak Creek a great community to live in.

 

Also committee heads you need to submit this year’s budget at the next meeting. Last year’s budget is on the website next to the January 2008 minutes.
