Minutes of the April 7, 2008

OAK CREEK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION Board Meeting

 

Called to order at 7:00 p.m., the following board members were present: Ned Hurley, Eric Paetzel, Jim Lee  and Tom Hytry. 

 

The following homeowners were also present: Everett Best, Paul Augius, Houston Godfrey, Jean Paetzel, Dorothy Jarman, Chris Fisher, Kim & John Baer, Carole Crum, Dave Hanck, Terry Mulhall, Sandy Worzala, Beth Johnson and Doug Palmer.

 

Roofing Materials: The proposal by the architectural committee to allow alternative roofing materials was the first order of business.  Jim Lee presented the pro and con of wood shakes.  A general discussion with the homeowners followed.  A informal vote was taken of the

homeowners with all but two person voting to allow alternative roofing materials as

specified by the Architectural committee. The board then approved the following:

 

Alternative roofing materials may be used for new or existing homes under the following two conditions:  its weight must be at least 425 per square and the Architectural committee must be provided with a sample and approve it prior to doing the roof.

 

A new roofing web page will be added to the web site with the above information on it.

 

Budget:  The 2008 Oak Creek operations budget was approved at the meeting. A copy of the budget is available on the minute’s page of the association website “oakcreekhomeowners.org”

 

Tennis Courts: The bid for fencing around the tennis courts was approved ($8800.00).

The new fence will be the same height as the current fence plus it will have 4 foot high sides with a four foot opening on each side.

 

The question of lighting the court at night came up but it was decided to wait to see how much use it get before doing anything.

 

Due to wear and tear on the surface of the new courts, they are to be used only for playing tennis.  No bikes or skateboarding will be allowed. Sign will be posted to this effect.

 

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be the first Monday in May (May 5) at 7:00 p.m.
